10 AWESOME FACTS ABOUT HAWKMAN

Hawkman is one of DC's oldest characters, having been around since the earliest years of the Golden Age of Comics. Over a long career, he's been a part of the publisher's highest-profile teams, participated in its biggest events and appeared in live-action and animated adaptations. Still, all that exposure hasn't necessarily translated to respect.
With that in mind, here are 10 amazing facts about Hawkman, DC’s most complicated superhero.

1.  UNDERWATER HERO.
In flash Comics issue 9, it was revealed that
Before Aquaman debuted in 1941, Hawkman went into the ocean and met Poseidon. Poseidon granted Hawkman the power to live and breathe.

2.  TALK TO BIRDS.
In All Stars Comics issue 10, Hawkman had the ability to talk to birds during the Golden Age. Not only that, he taught the language to the other Justice Society members.

3. SLOW AGING.
In The shadow war of Hawkman issue 2
It has been said that the Thanagarian life span is three times as long as a human’s. A 100-year-old Thanagarian would look to be about 30 in Earth years.

4. THANAGAR

Thanagar is a planet that is synonymous with Hawkman and his mythos. A highly advanced planet, it is home to the mysterious and powerful Nth metal. Thanagar is home to humanoid Thanagarians whose law-keepers are the winged Hawkman. Isamot Kol, a Lizarkon or humanoid lizard is from the planet Thanagar. He is partners with Rannian, Vath Sarn. Thanagarians and Rannians famously do not get along. With a rich history and ties to a lot of major DC stories, it is a well-known fixture of the DC universe.

5. PRINCE KHUFU FROM EGYPT.

Prince Khufu is one of the first known incarnations of Hawkman. He lived during the time of Ramses II in Egypt. He was the lover of Princess Chay-Ara. They were murdered by the Dark Priest Hath-Set and cursed to an eternity of reincarnation. They were doomed to find each other every time they were reincarnated only for Hath-Set to murder them. Interestingly, his associates were Nabu and Teth- Adam. Nabu was the wizard whose helmet and consciousness would guide iterations of Doctor Fate. Teth-Adam, his champion would go on to become corrupted and turn into none other than Black Adam.

6. HE BEAT SUPERMAN

Forged by Nabu for Prince Khufu, the Claw of Horus was a devastating weapon. It was made from the Nth metal found on the Thanagarian ship that landed in Ancient Egypt. The claw draws its power from the Earth’s magnetic field. Hawkman used this device to briefly incapacitate Superman during the Public Enemies storyline. Its mystical energy could have also caused Superman serious damage owing to his weakness to magic.

7. CURSED LIFE.

Khufu and Chay-ara were slain with an Nth metal dagger by Hath-Set and cursed to live on, reincarnated after each death until they again found each other and fell in love, though Hath-Set also reincarnated, cursed to kill them across generations.

Khufu lived many different lives throughout the DC continuity, including old west gunfighter Hannibal Hawke/Nighthawk or Brian Kent/Silent Knight, with the current Carter Hall discovering even more lifetimes in his most recent series.

8. DARK FORGE

Carter Hall/ Katar Hol’s failed New 52 reboot meant that writers did not know what to do with him. Enter DC: Metal. The story goes that the great Bat-demon Barbatos found Carter Hall in the Dark Multiverse. He transformed Carter into a gigantic hawk-demon. Carter was forced to man the World Forge, a place beneath creation itself creation that created entire universes from the fears and terrors of every living being of the multiverse.

9. SUPERHERO CHILDREN

Hawkman has had children who have gone on to become powerful heroes in their own right. Earth-2’s Carter Hall would have a son with Hawkgirl, Hector Hall. Hector would take the name, Silver Scarab and wear a suit of Nth metal. He would then go on to become Doctor Fate and join the JSA in the main universe where the Justice League also existed. Fel Andar, another Hawkman had a son called Charlie Parker. Charlie would go on to have a short-lived career as the Golden Eagle of Titans West.

10. EARTH 2.

On Earth-2, the superhero team was the Justice Society of America. Here, Hawkman, Carter Hall, was a reincarnated Egyptian Pharaoh who used Nth-metal to construct his crimefighting equipment and used ancient weapons to fight crime. He would go on to become the chairman of the Justice Society of America.

TOP 10 CATWOMAN FACTS.

As one of DC's most popular female anti-heroes, Catwoman has had a long history with Batman and DC as a whole.
Catwoman aka Selina Kyle was created by Bob Cane and Bill Finger for Batman #1 in 1940. At her core, Catwoman has always been a thief and a femme fatale and occasional love interest for Batman. In her creation, Kane said that he took inspiration from actresses Jean Harlow, Hedy Lamarr, and his own cousin, Ruth Steele.

Catwoman has existed for decades and fans often forget some parts of her history. Here's 10 facts about her.

1. THE PROSTITUTE YEARS.

The Modern Era's Selina Kyle became a prostitute in Gotham’s seedy East End. Selina’s former pimp Stan kidnapped her sister Maggie and Selina killed Stan to get her back. Selina took in young runaway Holly Robinson. Selina saw Batman and adopted the Catwoman persona to hide her identity as a cat burglar.

Selina became a successful thief and a strong-willed woman with her own sense of right and wrong. She found evidence that she may be the illegitimate daughter of infamous criminal Carmine Falcone but was never able to find definitive proof.

2. "HUSH TOOK MY HEART".

Hush aka Tommy Elliott was slowly destroying Bruce Wayne’s life and now he was targeting Catwoman.

Hush kidnapped Selina and removed her heart, leaving her at a hospital. Batman found out, went after Hush, and left Selina with Doctor Mid-Nite. Batman located her heart and Mid-Nite restored it but Selina slipped into a coma. Zatanna came to Selina and gave her a magical vial to help her heal. Bruce sat by her side and professed his love, thinking Selina was still asleep but Selina had heard the whole thing.

3. ZATANNA WIPED HER MIND.

Zatanna wiped her mind in the famous storyline Identity Crisis.

Batman finds out that, at the request of the Justice League, Zatanna wiped Catwoman's mind in order to make her turn from her crime-life. This made her a "good guy" in many scenarios, including making her the "savior of the East End." It also made her commit to a relationship with Batman.

Though he enjoyed the time, Batman's morals get the better of him and he forced Zatanna to come clean. In response, Selina became furious and tossed her out a window.

4.SHE'S SKILLED WITH A BULL WHIP

Undeniably, Catwoman's most famous weapon is her whip, even though it's not been present in some of her storylines such as in The Dark Knight Rises.Selina uses this whip as both a weapon and a tool that allows her to climb up and swing from high placesIn some situations, however, she uses a grappling gun much like her bat-obsessed rival.

Catwoman is very skilled with this weapon, allowing her to get the upper-hand in multiple scenarios where she's either outnumbered or facing a foe that's far more powerful than her.

5. Michelle Pfeiffer Mastered The Whip To Play Her.

In an interview it was revealed that Michelle Pfeiffer chose to master the use of Catwoman's iconic whip before playing her in 1992's Batman Returns. In addition to this, she learned how to kickbox and did practically all of her own stunts. This added a level of authenticity to her highly physical scenes as Catwoman.

Though Michelle pretty much nailed the use of the whip by the end of training, after accidentally hitting her instructor on the first day.

6. HER FIRST APPEARANCE

This is how Catwoman was first introduced (Known as The Cat then) to the world, yes, it's a woman wearing an orange cape and a cat head. Even for the 1940s, that is a ridiculous looking outfit. Even worse than that outfit, back then, it was heavily hinted that she outright killed people. While deaths have been on her hands since then too, she's always been a thief first, only killing when people deserve it.

7. SHE KILLED BLACK MASK.

Black Mask took being a villain to a whole new level. Many villains target those close to a hero to get to them, just as real-life crime bosses do now. The best way to get someone to do what you want is by threatening a person close to them.

Well, Black Mask went above beyond that, kidnapping Catwoman's sister and torturing her mercilessly. This isn't run of the mill torture either, she was forced to eat her husband's eyeball. It's a grotesque scene that rightfully breaks Catwoman, leading to the awesome moment above.

8. She Was Banned By The Comic Code Authority.

Back in 1954, the Comic Code Authority was created, with the intent on removing nudity, crime, horror, and all things terror from comic books. This led to much of the camp from that era, no one able to ever push the boundaries. You couldn't even come within ten feet of it, case in point being Catwoman. They had to outright write her out of comics because she glamourized crime, which was a big no.

It's a stark reminder that even back then, people in charge worried about the most meaningless things. Why focus on real issues when we can blame comics! Back then they were very much the video games of that era.

9. HER SISTER WAS DRIVEN INSANE.

Maggie Kyle was driven to the point of insanity, Black Mask being more successful than even The Joker in this regard. His torture methods were so effective that he turned what had once been a devout nun into a crazed killer known as Sister Zero, a woman hell-bent on getting revenge on Catwoman.

Now she sees herself as a savior, guardian angel from god himself. While she doesn't show up often, she did have a big role in the Gotham City Sirens series, where the three girls had to team up to take her down.

10. BIG MISTAKE.

The truth hurts. Catwoman, starring Halle Berry, is the worst depiction of Catwoman we've ever seen. And I'm including the Catwoman who was the culprit in a Scooby-Doo mystery in that verdict as well. First off, the manner in which she became Catwoman was absurd. Mystical cat breath has never, and probably will never, be the best way to acquire strength, agility, and flexibility. At least the Catwoman in the comics trained to become the skilled combatant that she is. Patience Phillips is no Selina Kyle. She exhibits a split personality disorder after that insane cat magic, and we all kind of wish that she wouldn't rub catnip on her face like that.

Well thats it for today guys.

If you think I miss some awesome facts about her. Then please write it on the comment box.

SIMILARITIES BETWEEN SUPERMAN & HOMELANDER.

Homelander shares a lot in common with the iconic DC comics character, in ways that are obvious and others that are not as much so. On the surface, Homelander might seem another grim and gritty take on Superman Superior, but he's a little more complicated than that.
Homelander has even been labeled a parody of that iconic character. But that doesn't make him any less entertaining. Here are ways in which the two are similar.

1. SAME POWERS.

The most obvious trait the two characters of Homelander and Superman share are their power sets. Homelander is very clearly and intentionally a take on the character, to the point he possesses most of the Man of Steel's primary powers.

That includes heat vision (which Homelander likes, a lot), X-ray vision, super strength, stamina, invulnerability, and flight. As if that weren't enough, they also both possess superhuman speed and superhuman hearing. They also share some of the weaknesses in relation to the powers (more on that later).

2. LEADERS.

Superman and Homelander share more than just their powers in common. They're also the leaders of their respective superhero groups. While Superman is not always the leader of the Justice League (that's been a lot of people), he's often at the helm of the group as they tackle their biggest challenges.

Homelander is the leader of the Seven, though his rank was assigned to him. He's the face of the group, designed and molded to play a role that Superman earned through hard work and experience.

3. COSTUMES

Superman's suit mostly consists of the color blue with red. The same applies to Homelander's suit. It's mostly blue, with touches of red and white.

Like Superman, Homelander has a cape too. The only major differences between their costumes is that Homelander's cape has the design of an American flag. Homelander also wears gloves, which is something Superman has never been seen doing.

4. ICONS.

Despite Homelander's behavior, he remains an icon to the public. Thanks to the powerful marketing and political influence of Voight, the leader of the Seven is generally perceived as a hero.

Superman is an icon in the world of DC as well, but he doesn't have to sell anybody on anything. He's the genuine article, and his actions speak for him. Though some might fear him, he never gives them a reason to.

5. CAN'T SEE THROUGH METALS.

The two share many powers in common, and they also share a curious weakness. Superman can famously see through just about anything with his X-Ray vision, except for lead. This has led many of his greatest villains to heavily invest in the metal.

Homelander on the other hand can't see through zinc, as he explained to a Fellow members of the Seven in season one. Zinc absorbs low photon X-Rays, but not high photon ones. If Homelander had high photon X-Ray vision, he could see through zinc lined objects or containers.

So that's it for today guys.

TOP 10 AWESOME LOBO FACTS.

Lobo is an immortal, intergalactic bounty hunter with his very own swear words.
This intergalactic bounty hunter has been a fan favorite since the '90s, and he is the perfect DC super(anti)hero to launch an R-rated corner of the DCEU. Most fans know him as the unkillable rogue with a love of booze and bounties, but there's a lot more to him than that! In the hopes of an official Lobo movie being added to the DCEU in the very near future.
So here are the top 10 facts about Lobo.

1. STAN LEE'S FAVORITE DC CHARACTER.

This one is strange but true. Stan has gone on record a few times to say how he finds Lobo unique and if there was any DC character he wishes he'd created, it's the Main Man.

He has said he loves how vile, strong and ugly the Last Czarnian is, and believes he should've been a Marvel character all along. Sorry Batman. Sorry Superman. Sorry Wonder Woman. But Stan Lee has a huge soft spot for the Ultimate Bastich!

2.  MEMBER OF JUSTICE LEAGUE AND SUICIDE SQUAD.

DC Rebirth has been much more well received by fans than The New 52. Lobo appeared in the "Suicide Squad Vs Justice League" crossover event, where he was a member of Amanda Waller's first Squad.

He was being mind-controlled by Maxwell Lord, but Batman saw a way to sever this control: he implanted a bomb in Lobo's head and blew it up! When his head regenerated, he was free of Lord's influence and in debt to the Dark Knight. He then accepted Batman's offer to join his unorthodox new version of the Justice League.

3. CREATED AS A PARODY.

Lobo is not a subtle character, which makes sense when you find out that he was created as a parody of the late '80s/early '90s trend for 'grim n' gritty' superheroes like Wolverine and The Punisher.

Co-creator Keith Giffen said he had no clue why Lobo became so popular, as he created him as an indictment of those excessively violent and extreme characters. In the end, it seemed that comic book fans didn't get the joke and simply loved Lobo for the same reasons as the other characters.

4. HIS NAME HAS MANY MEANING.

Lobo’s name has a couple of different meanings. In one origin comic for the character, it was stated that ‘Lobo’ means ‘He Who Devours Your Entrails And Thoroughly Enjoys It’ in the language of the Khundian empire, Lobo was not born on Khundia, but on Czarnia.

Outside of the comic universe, ‘Lobo’ means ‘wolf’ in both Spanish and Portugese, suggesting that his name was inspired by the ‘lone wolf’ nature of his character.

5. HE'S BEEN KICKED OUT OF HELL AND HEAVEN.

This happened when, in his early days, Lobo was actually successful killed. He was sent to Hell and there proceeded to continue his usual murderous rampaging. As a result of all the trouble he caused, he was booted from Hell, but was still dead, so ended up in Heaven.

Of course, he just kept right on killing things and getting into trouble, so Heaven also kicked him out and barred him from returning to either place via a memo to all Gods, Goddesses, Devils, and Death. Now, unable to get into Heaven or Hell again, he occasionally leaves his body when it is taking a long time to heal, and wanders about as a ghost, continuing to cause chaos.

6. TRIED TO ASSASSINATE SANTA CLAUS.

he tried to kill Santa Claus. And who hired Lobo to carry the hit in the first place? That would be our very own Easter Bunny.

This story, titled Paramilitary Christmas Special, was one of the few released under a Lobo mini-series, which also included plots like Lobo becoming RoboCop thereby LoboCop, and another where he kills his daughter and other offspring because he’s clearly a terrible father.

7. HE LOVES DOLPHINS

In one story, Lobo’s space dolphin was killed when he brought it along with him to Earth to fight Aquaman. His truce with Aquaman occurred due to a fisherman killing Lobo’s dolphin, and the latter realized Aquaman really was a friend to the dolphin species. Refusing to fight Aquaman anymore, Lobo reasoned that any friend to dolphins is off his hit list; although he then proceeded to kill the fisherman.

8. WEARS A RED LANTERN RING

Lobo (of Sector 3500): During the Brightest Day story, Atrocitus hired Lobo to attack the leader of the Red Lanterns in order to gain the trust of Hal Jordan, Carol Ferris, and Sinestro. As payment for his services, Atrocitus rewarded Lobo with a red ring.

9. MAN OF HIS WORDS.

Lobo is a man of his word. If he makes a promise, he will stop at nothing to keep it. He is also surprisingly protective of space dolphins, which he cares for and avenges violently when they are wronged.

10. BIT THE FINGER OFF A NURSE

Lobo's origin story is as brutal as they come. What is even worse about this Czarnian, is that when Lobo was born, he bit the fingers off of the nurse that delivered him. This evil attack made the nurse go insane, and it is known that Lobo's nature is so evil, it drives entire races into madness.

So thats it for today guys.  If you think I missed something important about Lobo then please comment about it.

TOP 10 AWESOME FACTS ABOUT WONDER WOMAN.

Wonder Woman is one of the most popular comic book characters of all time. She is considered one of the big three in the world of DC, alongside the likes of both Superman and Batman. She is an icon of hope and female empowerment.
Here are the top 10 facts about Wonder Woman.

1. HER ORIGINAL NAME WAS SUPREMA, THE WONDER WOMAN.
wonder woman sexy pic hd
Wonder Woman was created by American comic book writer William Moulton Marston. Her creation was inspired by two women: his wife, Elizabeth Holloway Marston, and Olive Byrne, who lived with the couple in an polyamorous relationship. Marston created her to be a liberated woman and have the positive characteristics that he associated with women.
Wonder Woman was also created to rival the strength of Superman. Before she made her comic book debut in All Star Comics in December 1941, she was originally called Suprema, the Wonder Woman.

2. GAL GADOT THOUGHT SHE WAS AUDITIONING FOR CATWOMAN.
When an actress like Gal Gadot gets called in to audition for Warner Bros. and Zack Snyder, she makes her own assumptions and Wonder Woman wasn't part of her initial thoughts.
When she got called back to go test with Ben Affleck, who plays Bruce Wayne/Batman in the film, she was told what role she was actually trying for, that of Wonder Woman.

3. TWIN SISTER OF WONDER WOMAN.
Nubia is not the foil to Diana, Wonder Woman’s true identity, but a true equal. She was created in 1973 out of the same clay used to make Diana, only her clay was black. She was formed by the goddess Aphrodite, and from there her backstory gets a bit wild. She is stolen at birth by Ares, the god of war, and was trained by him to become a master at hand-to-hand combat. In fact, when she was introduced in Wonder Woman Vol. 1 #204, she beat Diana in battle, and only stopped when she met her sister at sword point.

4. HER BRACELETS KEEPS HER POWER IN CHECK
In the New 52, Wonder Woman removes her bracelets in order to fight a God.
Wonder Woman's bracelets do not only help in deflecting bullets and other weapons. They also help her to keep her powers and emotions in check. The bracelets remind the Amazons to be grounded. If ever removed, it would make them go insane in rage. Also, it would make them more powerful and their powers would go out of their control. The bracelets are not in her hands to protect her but us from her.

5. GAL GADOT IS THE FIRST NON-AMERICAN TO PLAY WONDER WOMAN
Despite the fact that Wonder Woman traditionally wears stars and stripes, she's not American, which makes Gal's casting even more exciting. There was a small bit of outcry surrounding her being tapped for the role, but so far she seems to be doing original Wonder Women — Lynda Carter and Cathy Lee Crosby.

6.WONDER WOMAN WAS BANNED IN 1942.
Diana of the Amazons was introduced in 1941 but In March 1942, the National Organization for Decent Literature, one of the most influential censorship groups in America between the 1930s and 1960s, banned the book because of Wonder Woman's costumes. "Wonder Woman is not sufficiently dressed,” said a bishopWonder Woman was placed on a blacklist of "publications disapproved for youth".

7. LEADER OFTHE STAR SAPPHIRES.

Wonder Woman was a member of the Star Sapphires for a brief period during Blackest Night. The Star Sapphires are a Lantern Corps (kind of like the Green Lanterns) and their power comes from love. Diana’s love of the world and the people within it made her a perfect fit for the pink Star Sapphire ring.

8.SHE IS VEGETARIAN.

Since she is a favorite of the Greek Gods, she has been gifted with certain unique abilities. One of them includes talking and controlling animals. She can easily communicate with animals and can control them to do as she pleases. She uses this power to save them from harm and vis-à-vis.So, since she is friends with the fauna, eating them would be inconsiderate and inappropriate. Therefore, she is a vegetarian.

9. LOVE WITH GREEN LANTERN.

The Green Lantern and Wonder Woman were supposed to become a Couple. But that was scratched in the 70's when DC received a letter by a fan that suggested the same idea. Due to legal reasons. This prohibited DC comics from moving forward with the idea.

10. REAL LIFE LASSO OF TRUTH.

The creator of Wonder Woman—William Moulton Marston—also helped create the modern lie detector by tracking a subject’s blood pressure changes while they were lying. No wonder he gave his famous heroine a lasso that compelled people to tell the truth.
